Ready to speak with a genetic counselor?

support IS Available AT YOUR CONVENIENCE in two primary areas of the genetic testing process

1. GEnetic Counseling & Optional Testing

Reviewing what a genetic test is meant to do as well as its limitations, pre-test genetic counseling sets the stage for the genetic testing process and helps set your expectations appropriately. Genetic counselors provide education about testing and options based on current professional guidelines. The possible test results are explained to help you determine if testing is the right decision for you with consideration of your personal and family medical history.

Sessions are approximately 45- 60 minutes.

2. Genetic Test Result Review

Genetic test results can be complex and may use unfamiliar language.  After your test result is returned, genetic counseling can help explain what your specific result means to you and your family.  The inheritance pattern and chances of other family members having found variants may be identified. Test result counseling will identify any recommended next steps and if further testing is warranted. Ongoing management guidelines based on current professional recommendations and patient support resources are also discussed (as appropriate).

Sessions are approximately 45-60 minutes
